Kevin Daisey is the Founder of Array Digital and host of The Managing Partners Podcast. He is joined by Clay Payne, an attorney and influencer on Instagram. Clay is based in San Antonio, Texas, and has been practicing law for around five years. He has progressed from a law clerk to a partner in a boutique litigation firm, which had not done any paid marketing before his social media efforts. Clay believes that his social media efforts have completely changed the trajectory of his career and brought in cases.
Clay started using Instagram in April of 2022 and has seen a lot of success, gaining over 200,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube shorts. He posts on each platform and repurposes the content for the other platforms. He is getting 5-10 leads a day, not all in his area of practice, but signing 18 wheeler cases and motor vehicle accident cases both in his state and all over the United States. This success is showing attorneys that Instagram can be a great source of leads and referrals, and that it is a space that they should consider exploring.
Clay shares his experience of building an audience on Instagram without any paid advertising. He achieved success by putting out entertaining posts that people could enjoy. He emphasizes that these organic followers are the strongest and are likely to convert into potential clients. Clay suggests recording good content and putting it out there in bite-sized pieces that people can take in. He recommends hiring a VA or assistant to help with brief editing, and getting in front of a camera to share what you already know. By doing this, it helps build a brand and grow an organic audience.
The speaker is discussing their experience with creating content for their law practice. They generally set aside a Sunday to record their content and will spend the week thinking of ideas. During the week, they will jot down any topics that come to mind, such as what to do after a car accident or what happens when you're served with divorce papers. The speaker believes it's important to grow organically and not just buy followers. This can be done by creating content that is engaging and that people want to watch. This will help ensure that your content is actually working and gaining traction.
